Sunday Funday

Today Dad had a morning walk down the hallway, and then another this afternoon.. He said it definitely made him tired, but it was good to get up and get a little different scenery. He's pretty tired today... didn't sleep much last night. He's sitting up in the recliner chair in his room, trying to take a nap as I type this. I have to vent a little here: While we appreciate that a lot of you want to visit and see my Dad, PLEASE do not show up without talking to us first. My dad needs his rest more than anything - in order to let his body heal. We want to make sure he's up for visitors before we allow people to see him. I promise that any message/comment that has been said to us, here on the blog or facebook, or through email - he has seen or we've read to him. So please, we just really need to make sure we're putting his best interest first and letting him recover. I understand that you all care immensely and so you want to be here to show your love, and I guarantee that we aren't taking that support for granted... BUT too many people = unnecessary stress for him. He even mentioned that he feels like he has to entertain people when they visit, which is absolutely outlandish. I'm sorry if this sounds harsh - but I promise we will let all of you know when he can have visitors. I'm saying this as his protective daughter. :) Doctor said that they might be able to get the tube removed from his nose this evening/night, which I know will make him SO much more comfortable. That thing HAS to be so annoying - I can't imagine. They also said that they are thinking he might have to stay here as late as Friday, but that's not set in stone. It's just depends on how mobile he becomes and how he feels. For those of you that sent cards - thank you so much, we received them & Dad read all of them. And to everyone... Thank you for the continued prayers and love. Oh! Just to let you know.. my Dad just asked who got kicked off American Idol. :) Hahaha! So he must be feeling better! Lots of love- Holly
