Yeah - Things are moving!
So the day started out a little rough. Ric was really tired as he's not been able to sleep very well and it caught up with him today. His stomach was a little distended and bowels not really moving so there was some talk that they might put the NG tube back in. He was not very happy to hear that but Praise the Lord things started moving (bowels). This evening he had some chicken broth & apple juice. The nurse just told him that he can now move to a full liquid diet so he's going to eat some applesauce & vanilla ice cream. It's the little things that bring joy right now!
My parents came over from Eastern Washington (Othello) yesterday and headed back home late this morning. My dad is not a serious person so it was hard for him to behave and not make Ric laugh. He had his own cancer fun (not) last summer so he can relate to what Ric is going through - he had cancer in his sinus cavity. He did say that Ric was again trying to outdo him as Ric has more staples in his abdominal incision than Jim did in his incision that went ear to ear.:) Many of you prayed for my Dad last year as he was going through his bout with cancer and just so you know he is doing fantabulous!
We were also blessed with a visit from one of Rocky's friends Andrew Biggs. Many of you also prayed for Andrew as he went through his bout with cancer about 15 months ago. He is also doing very well & we were very excited to see him.
So after Ric finishes eating his applesauce & ice cream we are going for another walk around the floor. The goal is to try to get released to go home on Friday. Can't say it enough - thank you for your love, support and especially your prayers!
